I somehow think most expected Beherit to be a rotting carcass now, a thing of the past. One of those “this is how they used to do this back when things are real” gargoyles used by people to state just how bad things are now when there are thousands of bands to pick from, as opposed to when Beherit was in its prime when only three bands existed: Beherit, Impaled Nazarene and Blasphemy.

The story tells us of a tape, a tape only one man had. In respect to the band he burnt the tape, subsequently killing the dreams of millions to hear Beherit’s debut album instead of the mish-mosh that “The Oath of Black Blood” is. But, what he didn’t know was that the tape was indeed a manifestation of the phoenix and years later it arose and hid in the collection of one of Beherit’s members, Sodomatic Slaughter, to appear when the time was right.

Beherit - At the Devil's Studio 1990

The time is right! Kvlt and Primitive Reaction have joined forces and late next month the official debut album of Beherit will see the light of day, the darkness of night. As I type these words I can already hear the screams from the underworld as people head out the door to pawn the valuables so as not to miss out on the chance of snatching a vinyl or two of this legend. Act now or forever cry! Holocausto Vengeance has arisen from his technoslumber and is evoking ancient metaldaemons!
