We’re not in Kansas anymore. It’s not 1993, the year of misery. No longer do we scream at the world for being so ordinary. It seems that many of today’s black metal bands have forgotten about the rebellious young days of the second wave of black metal. Back when it wasn’t cool to get onstage in your ordinary clothes, in fact it wasn’t always okay to be on stage.

Post-black metal bands like So Hideous, My Love… are one of the bands that are mixing black metal together with hardcore creating something that would make many walking corpses from 1993 turn in their imaginary graves. Things have gone a full circle and now bands are taking things a step further from the days when Venom got the bright idea of mixing together punk’s rawness with metal’s speed and power.
