OCCULTATION – SOMBER DAWN

OCCULTATION
“SOMBER DAWN” SEVEN INCH
INVICTUS (JULY 2011)

In today’s world, full of news of wars, global disasters & the general downfall of everything, it’s always good to be allowed the chance to escape, even if only for a brief moment.

For just under eighteen minutes Occultation take us on a ride of doom & gloom. I find it difficult to point out if there’s anything that gives this more edge over anything else. Whether it’s the vocals, the guitars, the bass and the drums… The guitars drew me in at first but after quite a few listens it’s a case of a little bit here and a little bit there of everything.

Vague, I know, but some days are vague. It’s when spring is in the air, like today, that music like Occultation’s is all the more welcome to draw us a bit back into the darkness, the rain and the invoking of graveyard spirits.
